Help! Weird Symptoms (slip?)

Recommended Posts

Me too. Warm liquids are really soothing. But I guess it makes sense - you ice an injury to take down the swelling...

The NP in my surgeon's office told me warm liquids, NOT cold liquids, when I had tightness in my chest from the stomach swelling the week after surgery. And when I go in for a fill, they have us drink room temperature Water rather than cold Water immediately after the fill to make sure it's passing through.

The important thing is you see your Dr....

Speaking for myself...I would feel the same as you if I tried to eat Biscuits and things deep fried like chicken fingers....and also other things are for me on my "Do Not Eat List"...not that I can't, it's just that the risks are too high and I do not want to go through what you are experiencing....been there many, many times and it is certainly something that will change the way I eat....

I avoid ALL breads and flour based foods, and ALL things breaded and deep fried.....along with other things....

I also find it interesting, that the foods that are "Risky" and I avoid, are foods that are not that good for me in the first place, and I would be better off eating more healthier, wholesome foods....

But again, no matter how well you describe your symptoms, no one here can Dx your problems.....only someone that can examine you face to face....

All anyone here can do is share their own personal experiences....maybe same as yours, maybe not....

Thanks to everyone. I must've had a really bad blockage in the stoma which is what caused all the distress. Then eating a bunch of acidy foods after the choking made it worse.

I am SURE something slipped. A week of liquids probably made the swelling go down and the band is supposedly back where it should be. I just don't feel the same restriction and they won't do a fill for me yet. I don't think they even know how to do a fill. They don't even have the equipment to do a floroscopy in their portion of the health care center.

I am very sure now they want me to fail. So I am leaving this *** and joining up with this clinic as well as taking my full medical care into my own hands. I can't deal with their ineptitude.

Thanks again for the support!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
