The signal from my fill

Recommended Posts

I had my first fill yesterday 1.5cc. Pretty agressive and I'm happy with that. The scale had not moved in a couple of weeks, however, my clothing size went down, so that is awesome. But, today, the scale moved. I'm so happy. Is this because the nerve that signals my brain that I have eaten and am full is being suppressed significantly more and my body is willing to let the weight go? I hope this makes sense. Thanks for you expert opinions.

Probably not. Daily weight loss and gain can be a function of the body retaining or expelling fluids. You probably have lost fat over the last few weeks but could be retaining fluids. Any daily gain or loss of 1 or more lbs is usually just fluids. So, maybe your body is letting fluids go but fat loss is the ultimate goal.

If you're weight is lower week over week you can probably attribute this to losing fat but you should dismiss daily gyrations of whole lbs. If your clothes fit loosely you most likely have lost fat.

Daily weight loss fluctuations are a fact of life. Just take the good news and be happy. Good Luck!

While everyone is correct that this is probably Fluid fluctuation to clarify the band doesn't trigger satiation directly it just allows the food in the pouch to trigger the satiation response before the whole stomach is full. So with the fill you should trigger your metabolic response sooner but the effect of that will take several days to influence your body.

Well since I wrote this, I have lost another 3 pounds. To be honest the scale has been stuck for 2 weeks, ever since I started real food. But as soon as I got that fill the scale has been moving down everyday. I am thrilled. I also feel as though I am in the green zone for now. Had my first stuck episode today. It was gross. Just didn't chew well enough. Thanks for your thoughts.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
