Exactly a week away...

Recommended Posts

I met with the surgeon yesterday for the last time.

We talked and he checked me out, so I said, "Hey I'm sexy and I know it!" :P;)

I'm exactly a week away, my surgery is at 11:00 Am on the 6th.

Oh and all that bitching about liquid diet paid off -- lost 15 lbs in 4 days.

Did have some random cramping issues even though I'm very well hydrated.

he told me to eat a couple bananas and call him in the morning if there is still an issue.

I'm okay now but if it comes back I need to have some blood drawn for electrolytes check.

Getting close folks -- it's almost there.

Mine is at 730 am. First one of the day, so hopefully he is fresh!! Lol. I had my last visit with the surgeon today where he made me laugh cause he said the band is made by allergen. The same company that does the three "B"s Botox, boobs, and bands. My surgeon thinks he's hilarious

I worked at Allergen as an contractor, they are very proud of their botox. the money it brings.

7:30 Am is good That means you might be home by noon or even earlier.

Mine got pushed back to 11 AM because he has very hard case and he wants to do him first.:P

Any who, it is what it is.

I'm on the 5th also; at 10:30. I'm excited and anxious at the same time. I've never had surgery before so the not knowing about that experience brings on the worry.

I hear you. The closest I've been to surgery is when I had an endoscopy but even then that's not full anesthesia.

I know there are other things more worrisome e.g. PE or blood clots but anesthesia my bugaboo.

It'll all be okay I'm sure.

For me, the scariest part to any surgery is anesthesia because it's unnatural to be out of control of my body... but my best advice is to try TRY to stay as calm as possible because chances are you're in great hands! It calms me down to look at stats....I am more likely to die in a car accident or getting ran over than not wake up from surgery! Still scary to go under but it'll be over before you know it... one benefit is that whenever I wake up it feels like the best sleep I've ever had!! :) good luck...and know that you're in familiar company... I've been under anesthesia three times and still as nervous as I was the first

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
