My coworker told me today my clothes are starting to look pretty baggy and he's probably right. My clothes feel bigger and i cant believe it bc I've only been banded for almost a month.

What did u guys do when u were dropping sizes left and right? Right now im prob in a 20 pant and have really only shopped at lane bryant for work clothes but its expensive!!

Any suggestions? :)

Thrift shops. They're you're best best for clothes so you're not spending a fortune while you're losing weight.

Definitely agree..

You have Target, Walmart, Meijer, not sure what is near you, or Stein Mart and they send out coupons, I love Stein Mart. But yes consignment shops are great.

I would buy a couple pieces at a time and just wear them. Also I had a sis in law that had lap band about a year before me so hand me downs were great.

Ross is also a good cheap place to consider buying "temporary" sizes until you reach goal. Also, I'm new to the site, no exchanges here?

Hand me downs have been great. Funnily I've scored some items back they I'd previously grown out of. Borrowing items for special occasions works as well.

Other thing I found was investing in some new basics, stretchy black skirts and pants were a staple, plus a jacket. I found I could wear these bits and pieces to work and out casually.

Wrap dresses are also great for weight loss, they tie so you can get fair wear out of them over a few different dress sizes. I also found skirts and dresses more forgiving than pants as your losing weight. I've not spent much on jeans, simple Levi's have been suffice.

Oh and new bras, that was the first thing to replace. I've bought two staple black and beige bras, that are strapless and convertible.

I buy basics...like a couple of pairs of black pants and I rotate them. AND I also buy the clothes just a wee bit tight. Although a little uncomfortable to start I know they will be just fine in a couple if weeks and then I wear those until they get a bit too baggy.

Thrift stores are great. I also post on Facebook about needing new clothes and have gotten entire wardrobes given to me (latest were sizes 14 and 16) by friends and friends of friends. The great thing about donated clothes is I've worn styles and colors that are beyond my conservative, hide-the-fat-girl comfort zone and learned how great I look in them. Also, the WLS support groups are often great places to score clothes. If you like how someone in the group dresses, ask them if they still have any clothes in your size. Also, wear dresses and skirts. Pants look baggy very quickly and don't adjust well to being taken in, but skirts do -- some are as easy as taking in the elastic on a waist band. If you do prefer pants, get ones with draw-string waistbands. I've dropped 135# and have spent about $300 on clothes over the past 4 years. Most of that has been on bras and underwear.

Im having the same situation. I've dropped 2 pants sizes within less than 2 months. Thrift stores are absolutely the way to go!!! Get a variety of sizes, so that you have something you can fit into as you continue to lose.

I agree with the others, visit thrift shops. Look for season ending sales, or big holiday sales. Best wishes.Karen

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
