Is it weird that I can eat soft food already?

Recommended Posts

My dr doesn't have a lot of rules, but not drinking while you ate was one of them. And when I was in my green zone, to be honest I couldn't really drink if I ate hard Protein. There wasn't enough room for both.

I know some drs don't like you drinking before you eat, but I always did. For one thing, it was so I didn't get thirsty afterwards, and secondly, it dulled any 'hunger' that was actually thirst, and thirdly, I couldn't see how drinking before would cause the band to not work (mechanically). After eating, sure, but before? Didn't make sense to me.

No he didn't. I have to see him in a month. Do you get headaches from salty or fryed food? Mine are nasty. It's like a Migraine.< /p>

No I don't get headaches from salty or fried foods. The salty and fried foods are for your blood pressure. I am going to see my kidney doc on March 18 and I will consult with him about he Protein.

You should not be drinking with you meals or Snacks. You should be drinking about 60 oz of Water a day, but 12 hr before and about 1 hr after meals. At least that is the guidelines given to me by my surgeon. follow your surgeons guidelines! i too am surprised that the surgeon's office has said to go to soft foods already. Since the doctor said you should, stay away from store bought Soups, they have a lot of sodium content. And just because you can, doesn't mean you should, eat a can of raviolis. Take it easy, eat small amounts. Best wishes for your new self! Karen

Drinking and eating? I'm always the odd man out on this one :o

There are some very reputable surgeons who allow you to eat and drink. Watch this video and make your own decision?

BTW- If you can find time, watch all 4 of Dr O'Brien's videos. They're each about 9 mins long but well worth it.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
