Feeling weak and fatigued

Recommended Posts

For the past wk and a half (maybe more) I've been feeling weakness in my muscles (mainly upper arms and thighs) and fatigue. Sort of like not having enough sleep for weeks, even though i get plenty. Could this be not enough Protein? I haven't changed anything and now have more Protein Shakes. It could be not having enough of my new anti depressant (i have been weaning off one and starting another).

The dr doesn't seem to be concerned with anemia or anything.

Anyone else ever experience this?? Ps, this is how i felt right after surgery and 2 wks later- i woke up and felt great (i guess it was my body finally getting used to the lower calorie intake.

Help! This feeling sucks so bad

It could be a lack of Protein, a lack of calories, a Vitamin deficiency, dehydration, or something totally and completely unrelated to your band.

I would go to your primary care doctor and ask for a full blood work up and physical, just to make sure everything is ok.

Best wishes.

I was feeling the same way at around three months, was getting plenty of sleep but was constantly fatigued. My issue was low Iron levels, my doctor put me on iron meds and stressed taking my Vitamins every day and I noticed a huge improvement within weeks.

I had the same problem so my doctor ran a few tests. Turns out I was Vitamin B1 deficient, so they recommended a supplement and some adjustments to my diet.

I'd definitely ask them to do blood work. In the meantime, more Protein and more Water.< /p>

I would say call your doctor and go in for a visit. That would be the best way to know what is ailing you.

If it's Iron related - that can easily fluctuate based on your cycle (if you have a regular or heavy one). I agree with the above and to go back in for another blood test! Good luck! :)

I was on wellbutrin recently and had to stop because it made me shakey - like under my skin muscle shakey, really weird. Maybe it's a side effect of your meds?

I'm really surprised your doctor doesn't have you on at least a Multivitamin. Most bandsters are told to take Vitamins for life.

And I was on Celexa (anti anxiety/depressant) in the past and tremors was one of the side effects.

I would start with a good Multivitamin. It will make a world of difference. Then if that doesn't do the trick, go get some blood work done. Could be something simple as a deficiency.

I hope you had doctors permission to take that other Wellbutrin . Hope you feel better.

Did your doctor check T3/T4 levels? Look up hypothyroidism. Some things you said could be caused by that.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
