Well, I was banded yesterday! It's crazy to think that after all of that prep and research I am now part of the banded community!! So far not too too bad. I'm in some pain and discomfort. The gas pains are terrible- it brings me to tears because its difficult to breathe, but when I move around it helps!

What a surreal feeling... My new life has already begun!!! :)

Congratulations fellow bandster!

The discomfort only last a short time, but the joy can last for the rest of your life.

You're on your way, woohoo

Use a heating pad for the gas. Use it on your back and also on your tummy. Peppermint tea is really good too!

Congrats! I am right behind you and I can't wait to cross over to the other side. Hope the gas pains ease up. That is always the worse with any surgery, I can take the soreness, but the gas really hurts.

I was also banded yesterday. Gas pains are horrific. I'm very nauseated. Lucky to just get some fluids down. Did anyone else go through this? I have no appetite whatsoever. Going to try to get down the chicken Soup Protein but not sure I can. I don't want to vomit. I'm trying to get Powerade zero down. I haven't thrown anything up. I came home 2 hrs after my surgery was over.

Day 1 and 2 post op is a struggle. Today I was hungry!

Congratulations! Day 2 sucks but after that it gets better. In my case, a lot better. I'm on day 3 post-op and feel pretty great. Not planning to run a marathon tomorrow but compared to yesterday today is great. Here's what made a big difference for me- I didn't use narcotic pain meds. liquid Tylenol and Motrin only. It's the morphine that causes the nausea. After I left the hospital a few hours after surgery, I had zero nausea. Granted I may have had a little more discomfort, but it was a fair trade for nausea. I hate nausea. Good luck! It's gonna be great!

That's right! Every day gets a little better! I was banded 1 week ago and for me the first 3 days were horrible with nausea :( My Dr said to sip tea, apple juice or gatorade... Today I am feeling great! A little soreness at my port incision, but I finally have an appetite again! Good luck to you guys! Everyday you will notice gets easier and easier!

I was banded a week ago today. I felt pretty awful, ill and weak. Every other day I felt better, then worse. Today I felt good all day. Energy is returning. I have lost 21 pounds since I started the pre-op diet. I have had 4 other truck drivers seriously question me a about getting it done at WeightLossAgents.c com. I told them all to get it done asap and to seriously consider the sleeve as well.

Today I was only able to drink about 60 oz of water/powerade. I had no appetite whatsoever due to nausea. So I focused on staying hydrated.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
