My last filling was in November and its pretty tight. I've been ok until the last 2 weeks where I've had to keep a cup of Water on my bed side and sleep at a propped up angle because ill wake up coughing and choking on spit. What could it be? Also, because I paid out of pocket for the surgery, I'm worried if there is a complication that my insurance won't cover anything I might need to get done to fix it. Any suggestions?

Too tight or possibly even a slipped band. Call your Dr.

I've lived through that. I had the dr. take out about .25cc and it made a world of difference for me.

I have had that happen. Make sure you are not warming within three hours of going to bed and go see your doc. You may need a small unfill. You are probably too tight. If this is the case, it could lead to a dilated pouch. Been there and am currently dealing with that.

Symptoms of a dilated pouch are heartburn, being able to eat more than you should, and being hungry all the time. I also had the bonus of aspirating on my stomach contents (fluids) in the early morning while I slept.

I had those symptoms when I was too tight. My doctor had me do a upper gi and that confirmed it. Please see your doctor asap because many complications come from being too tight. Because of it, I got an enlarged esophagus. He had to remove half my liquid in order for my esophagus to return to normal.

I had a barium swallow done which confirmed that was the case. Then they did a complete unfill for 3 weeks. Now we are slowly putting the Fluid back in the band.

I'm definitely going to have to do that. My concern is that since I paid our of pocket for the surgery, my insurance won't cover it and I can't afford to pay anything out of pocket right now.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
