My band has been getting much tighter during time of month. Exhaustion and terrible back pain. I talked to nurse and she said Lots have this problem and to try eating very light at this time. Anyone else experience this? How do you handle it? Thanks in advance.

Sorry Hel.... I cannot offer first hand knowledge because I had my last period 2 days before surgery. However....from what I remember about periods when not banded.... Losing blood effects energy levels and during your TOM you need to get a little more rest then normal, eating healthy during that time also helps.

Now that you are banded if you are tighter during TOM just adjust your foods accordingly...maybe stick with lighter options and smaller portions more times each day... I mean don't change the calories...just space it out differently to accommodate the band.

Hope it helps

I had more trouble the months right after getting my band, but now I have very little issue. I do watch my salt in take around that time because it will blow me up like a ballon which puts pressure on my band.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
