Need info on unfill and pouch dilation

Went today and got an unfill in hopes of fixing dilation. When I hold my 20 lb daughter now my stomach hurts plus Dr did not say liquids so I ate dinner now stomach is even more sensitive and irritated feeling. Should I have done liquids only? Is it ok to hold daughter? Did I damage my self?

My doc said solid food was fine when I had an unfill.

Normally. An unfill doesn't require any restriction of food or lifting. If you're still uncomfortable, call your doctor...and keep us posted :)

First, your Dr. should have given you some instructions.....but I would think that if the dilation was severe enough for a complete un-fill, then it was done to give everything a rest or break in an attempt to let things get back to normal again....eating, IMO would be counter productive....

Most people I know, when this happens, including myself, would first go all liquids for a few days to let the pouch return to normal state, and that some Dr.'s would give a un-fill if they feel the patient cannot adhere to advice of all liquids......

Also, you need to ask yourself, what was the cause of this pouch dilation....I have ;learned the key to my success is to "Listen" to my band.....and not to fight it...

I just came back from getting an an unfill due to dilation. Read yiyr pist and wondering how you are doing now? Did thingd get back to normal? Do you gsve anymore complications?.

Update on my dilation. All is well praise God! I will never again go with too much fluid in my pouch. That was a clise call. I eould rather ut be too loose than too tight. Got .3 added and seem to be doing fine. I gained 2lbs, but I knew, what I was doing wrong, ste stuff thst I could no longer eat with restriction. Enjoyed it now time to get back on trsck. Wohoo.

How do you know when you have a pouch dilation?

  • Started gaining weight,
  • able to eat much more and was hungry 2 hours or less after a meal.
  • In addition for me I would feel restriction after a couple of minutes into my meal then would feel a thump in my pouch and could eat another banded person's meal after that.
  • I no longer had to chew my food well and I think that this was the main culprit to my pouch dilation.
