I'm feeling great. Had my first fill on Monday with frank and resumed spinning on Tuesday so now I hope to see the scale go down. I'm still amazed how I'm not starving and am satisfied with so little. Never knew how much I ate till I see how little I eat now if that makes sense. How are you feeling doing? Have u gone to the support group at NYU? I'm thinking of checking it out this month....since its all so new I want to gain as much insight as I can lol

I feel great!! I go back to see Dr Fielding on the 23rd and he said depending on how much more weight I lost he will decide whether or not to give me my first fill. I said the same thing about how much less I'm eating. It really is such a difference! I haven't been to any of the supports groups recently. My husband used to have the band and so does a few of my in laws so I'm pretty familiar with what to expect. But I remember in the beginning if my husbands journey going with him, and they really are very helpful and informative. I just started doing some exercise this week and I have so much more energy! Definitely the best decision I have made to better my healthy and way of life!! I'm glad to hear you too are doing so well! Good luck to you!! :-)

That's great! I don't get my first fill until August 23! Good luck to you on your journey!! :-)

The 23rd will be my 3 year "bandiversary" since I was banded at NYU by Dr. Ren. I can't believe how fast the time has flown!

Not yet before I get a date I need my insurance approval. My doctor (whom I love to pieces) was a little slow submitting all my documents. That has slowed down my approval.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
