Donyeil thanks for sharing. I am getting banded on the 25th and any positive stories are helping me stay calm pre-op. I've never had any kind of surgery before and I'm ready to get that part over with soon.

Best wishes on your journey. I can't wait to meet milestones together! :-)

Hi Donyeil,

My experience has been a lot like yours. I was banded on the same day, Jan. 2nd. I've had a pretty good recovery and no hunger . . . until this morning. I felt hunger for the 1st time since getting the band this morning. I'm guessing it's a sign that the swelling is going down? How are you doing . . . any hunger yet??

Hey Congrats yes today was my real first hunger day! hearing my stomach rumble was so strange to hear I did not even eat for hours just listening telling myself I could wait just a while longer. If feels like I can eat anything I have been eating applesauce and yogurt all week but I really want to eat so scrambled eggs just waiting until the 18th dr. visit to see if its ok ! What kind of things are you eating???

Pretty much the same - applesauce and yogurt, but also some oatmeal along with the Protein Drinks. My Dr. said as long as everything was going along well between days 7-10 after surgery I could go ahead and start integrating the mushy foods into my diet (hurray!!). So, I'm planning on trying something tomorrow (day 7) -not sure what yet. We have 6 hens that we raised from chicks. During the warmer weather they free range in our back yard and they give us the world's best fresh eggs every day - so I'm thinking eggs! I've been missing those fresh eggs!

        Hello Joset, why haven't you been given a diet plan? Did you have your surgery in the UK? Every surgeon has a different diet, and no two people are on the same one. Weird I know. Contact your team if you can

        Mine was two weeks clear liquids

        Two weeks on soups, milk shakes and broths all with out lumps

        two weeks on pureed foods { I couldn't stomach this step }

        two weeks on soft foods like Protein yogurt, stewed mince and veg, soft scrambled eggs. Pate on hard crackers

        Then onto any food I fancied. If you struggle on any step or with any foods go back a step for a few days. Eggs, salmon and chicken are hard for beginners.

        Sorry I missed your original post, hope you are still on here.
