Today marks my one week banding. After being banded I felt pretty good besides the shoulder pain. That pain quickly subsided and I had (have) the stomach gas and pressure. I walked and moved every time I felt it getting worse and that helped ease the pain. But gradually it appears to be getting worse. My stomach cramps and I have frequent bms which I think is related to the gas pressure (this is without any Fiber assistance). I originally thought it was due to the Celebrex and lack if food, but it seems that is not the case.

Instead of it easing up or getting better, it seems to be getting worse.

Walking is not helping, it makes it worse, Pepcid is not helping. I'm getting frustrated because I took a week off thinking the gas would be receding by now. I am just getting frustrated because of this pain!!! Did anyone have these problems after being banded? Please let me know this is apart of the process and it WILL get better!!

Sorry to sound whiny, but I'm just feeling really bad right now!!

Get some gas x (chewables) and a heating pad. Use them both every night for a few hours! I slept with my heating pad on my belly last night.

it will get better (as time goes by but i know it doesnt seem like it). unlike others, gas x didnt help me but i know that walking did (i couldnt walk far) but walked as often as i could...i also had alot of BM's and was the bathroom queen...per my dr's ok, i took immodium AD and also started a daily probiotic that def helped my tummy. i still take one daily (i open the capsule and put in my daily morning Protein shake)....so continue with what you are doing. you are still very soon out of surgery and you need to recovery. take a hot shower, use a heating pad, use your pain meds and just let your body heal...hang in there as i promise it will get better.,

this may sound a little nuts to you--but flapping your "wings" like a chicken while strolling around your house may help redistribute the pressure and aid in dissipation.

someone gave me this advice 7 years ago when i was first banded and it worked. i also used this flapping "technique" when rebanded recently. again, success.

hope it helps a little.

you may get some funny looks though... :)

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
