I eat between 900 and 1100 depending on how hungry I am but I eat frequently because my blood sugar drops fast.

You can also try 2 percent cheese. I hate fat free cheese.< /div>

About 700 and i track using fitness pal but i think im gonna start a journal rather than my phone!

' FEELIN IT '

I know everyone is different but the nutritionist I have been working with (who is pretty strict about what I should and should not eat) did recommend that when you are post surgery and relying only on food (as opposed to Protein shakes) that you should be at a minimum of 1,000 calories and no more than 1,500 to lose weight. She felt that if I stayed between those numbers I would lose gradually. I am not at that point yet as I am just beginning soft foods and having a shake each day, but I am hoping it some point that will work for me.

Would someone please answer my question. How many cals should a man be getting going into the 8th month of being banded. I burn around 800 cals in exercise and getting 90 to 100g of Protein a day I'm not loosing weight from scale but on average an inch a week loss. Right now getting 800 to 1000 cals a day. Am I doing ok or could it be better. I've lost 50 pounds in this time. I was hoping to loose 100 in year

Kerrbear we can not tell you this. You need to talk to your doctor and nutritionist. We are not certified nutritionist to tell you these things. We at one time or another gave samples of what we eat and if you are in fact losing inches I dont see why its upsetting you so much. Im not being mean but if you really are not losing weight you should talk to your doctor. I would be extatic to lose inches over weight.

You have asked the same question on several forum posts and been told to see a nutritionist. If it is still bothering you to just lose inches spend the money on a nutritionist visit. You are doing a nlot of exercise so your net calories is extremely low in my opinion.

I ate 1000 calories every day of solid food. My dr doesn't want me eating liquid nutrition since after the 3rd week I believe.... I lost an average of 10 lbs per month with basically no exercise.

not a dr, just a ole redneck southern girl but i looked on livestrong.com...here is what i found for you (til you can get with your nutritionist/dr)

so hope this helps:

Aim for approximately 1,200 calories a day for a weight loss of one to two pounds per week, which is optimum for lap band patients. If you find yourself on a plateau, cut down to 1,100 or 1,000 calories until the scale starts moving in the right direction again. Formulas to calculate your daily calorie intake are available on the Internet.

I don't think I am qualified to answer it as I am not a trained professional but my opinion is that it sounds too low. I would refer you to someone who can better look at your individuall situation. If your nutritionist isnt helping... Is there a local hospital nutritionist who can guide you?

Thank u both i'll try upping cals more. It's just really hard for me to get 1200 cals a day without eating several times a day and was trying to stay in the 3 meals a day only. The way I see it is anyone that has had the band and has had success with it for much time is a professional/ nutritionist. Most nutritionists never has been big and learn from books i feel hands on is better. The exact way that u may lose weight may not work the exact same for everyone but will be close. I just figured that's y we have this site is to share our success stories with people and may help them in their journey also

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
