Well, you are doing amazing. Boy, that's your call. I never drank them. Drank a total of 2 the week after surgery. Just didn't like them (but I didn't try many) The almond milk might be just fine mixed with your protien.? Worth a try.

Nice job on the weight loss so far!

Why does she want you drinking cals. at all? You should get cals from solid food. I do have some days a Premier shake as pre workout snack.(I often have 8 hours between lunch and dinner).

I tried several drinks and disliked them all. I finally tried Premier Protein from SAMs club ($18.88 for 12) and it tastes just like chocolate milk to me. It is 30 grams Protein and 5 grams carb per 11 oz bottle. I have been drinking 3 a day for 3 weeks now and still love them.

Try Almond milk, unsweetened! Very low carbs and calories, same texture as skim milk.

I use CytoSport 100% whey Protein vanilla but I think they have chocolate. Upon the advice of Cheznoel, I now make it with 6 oz unsweetened almond milk which thickens it up. I also add a tablespoon of SF FF Jello instant pudding (chocolate), a packet of splenda and some crushed ice. The pudding does add about 35 calories and 8 carbs but between the pudding and the milk, the thing tastes like chocolate milk and I can get it down. In fact it's yummy! Also, when you're not so carb restricted you can add some frozen fruit which is super yum.

This sounds delicious. Saving this recipe for when I'm banded :-)

I make mine with almond milk, vanilla protien powder and any flavor of sf Jello I want. strawberry, black cherry, peach is my fav. I hated the shakes too until I started doing this. Only drawback is I have to use the blender to mix them up enough... Mess to clean.

Not pudding jello, regular sf jello. It overpowers the Protein taste.

Speaking of blenders, I'm a big believer that having a good one can make all the difference. I've heard wonderful things about the Vitamix but it's super expensive at around $400 and up! A friend of mine who has a Vitamix suggested I get the Ninja because she had heard great things about it. I found one at costco for about $100. I always add ice and usually raw spinach to my Protein smoothies and it chops both up great, so fine that I can't tell there's spinach in it.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
