Where To Go From Here... =(

Recommended Posts

I was banded 14 months ago and have lost 88lbs. In the last month I have gained 4 back. =( I have no motivation. I was working out with a personal trainer 2-3x a week, but that was a 6 month plan that ended in September. I haven't done much for working out since then. I am also not eating great. I was still losing up til the first of November and then the 4lbs happened. I am an emotional eater so the weight gain leads me to bad places. Ugh. I need to get out of this rut. I am having oatmeal for Breakfast today. We will see where the rest of the day takes me...

You don't need a trainer to work out. I tell myself I can skip my workout if I will also skip dinner. Trust me I never want to skip dinner.

An 88 lb loss is wondeful! Why not focus on that instead of the 4 lbs you put on? The biggest question you need to ask is why dont you have any motivation? Once you have identified it you can get it back. Its just one meal at a time. You know this! :)

I lost all mt weight without formal exercise so while its certainly important it isnt necessary to exercise to get back on track.

might you need a fill?

Do what you know worked. No trainer, walk. Identify the trigger making you eat, and find a non food substitute! No body ever told you the band would do all the work. Now get out there and get moving!

Congrats on 88lbs! Why not sign up for a class? Something fun like dance or kickboxing. Sometimes we need that accountability to give us an extra push. Clean out that fridge, go grocery shopping with a healthy meal plan, and start fresh!

Great job on your WL! You look amazing! Why don't you sign up for some fun runs, get a friend to do it with you! Nothing is more motivating that the hype of race day! Jeff Galloway has some great apps for 5k, 10k 1/2 ad full marathon training!

These are inexpensive ways to get motivated.. Oh and here is a little secret, the results you get from runners are like no other!

Thanks everybody for your encouragement! I weighed in this morning at 188.8, so I am down about 3lbs for the month. =) I definitely need to find some type of dance class or something that will keep me interested. Thanks again!

You said you're an emotional eater. Check out shrinkyourself.com. I have been using it for 8 weeks (it's a 12-week program) and have learned so much about my emotional eating and how to change my behaviors.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
