Really that is great! Isn't it strange that I am happier for you and your 12 lbs than I am my wieght loss. I do think this has been a lousy week. Hormones, funeral, work, my birthday YUK. I have been pretty irritated by just about everything. Well actually the funeral is this afternoon so that will be over today. But your loss is great! I know how much trouble you went through to get your surgery. You are right. I have found my self over eating lately way less that what was normal but more than I thought I should eat. But I still felt hungry? Are you feeling that way???? I have to get some work done before I have to leave for the day. Ann I am so happy for you and your loss! (that sounds strange-but good)

Thanks Terri!

I hope that things start looking up for you real soon.

Yes, I have felt my self eating a lot more than I was right after surgery... but I also know that it is about 3/4ths less than I would eat pre-band. I use to graze... I would eat normal size meals for Breakfast and lunch but in the evenings I would graze until bed and consume large amounts of food. If I sat down for a proper meal it would be a huge meal and I would clean my plate. I now eat until I am satisfied... somedays this is more food than on other days and I no longer graze. I have 3 small meals each day and if I am more hungry I may have a small snack between my meals. I am trying to concentrate on chewing and eating slowly. Getting use to not drinking during my meals and for a good time afterwards. I figure that this is the time for me to get in all the good habits for example like my exercise... then when I start getting fills, it might not be so overwhelming.

I think we are both going through some pretty normal feelings and emotions. We are very lucky to have this forum where others understand what we are going through and can offer support and advise.

I hope you are feeling better and keep up the great job!

Take Care, :D

Hi Anne-

I am an emotional person any how. But now I think I need to go on Prozac or something. I have been tanning which I do think helps me emotionally. But eating I know I am eating more than I should be or thought I could. Not because I am attempting to push the envelope but I still feel hungry after I eat. Probably not taking enough time and I am so conditioned to drinking while eating it is hard to give that up too. Uggghhhh its Friday I think I will catch a movie hopefully a good one. Have a great weekend Anne and you keep up the good work and attitude. Terri

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
