Also, I am glad she went to ER; and they have gotten her Fluid levels up. I would hate to make a hasty decision though. Why are they determined she needs the band removed? Sometimes it could be a slip where they remove the Fluid and put you on liquids to see if the band repositions itself and to avoid removing it. I would hate to see her give up the band if she doesn't need to or to make a hasty decision.

That is crap that they wouldn't help her though at that hospital. Thank you for the updates and good luck w/ everything.

Posting on behalf of my sister Krismo83!

Still waiting!!!! She is in the hospital and is hooked up to IV's so thats a plus. They are trying to determine if its an emergency or not. I guess her throwing up every single pill and every single drop of Water that they are giving her isn't enough. This is so frustrating!!! Maybe I should send them a picture of my poor 1 year old nephew crying for his Momma. It's heartbreaking :(

What kind of pills are they giving her? If she is IV'd then all meds should go through her IV. When I went post op for my IV.. I was NPO (nothing by mouth) the entire time I was there. Is she feeling better with the fluids?

Who was her original Dr.

Who has she been seeing for fills?

Has she gone back to Mexico, is she in the US trying to find help?

His staff called her Surgeon that did her lap band surgery to get authorization and they said that my sister never had surgery there. I couldn't believe it!!!! She was just there yesterday and Monday.

She has been to see her Dr twice in the last week? What did he/she say or do? It is not normal to see your Dr that often unless there is an issue and if there is then the Dr should be in the process of assisting.

Losing 1- 2lb per day - that in itself sounds unbelievable so if it was happening then the Dr should be treating it as an emergency.

If you have been losing 1-2 pounds per day(!) for 2.5 years' date=' you are in huge trouble! Bogus.[/quote']

She's had her band for 2.5 yrs, but only having trouble last couple of months.

They were trying to give her some pills to help her nausea and those came up. They were trying to give her some Fluid to drink so they could do a scan and that came up. They aren't even able to get a tube down her throat to see how bad the blockage is. She is feeling a little better now that she is on the IV's. They told my mom today that her surgery is scheduled for Tuesday. :/

In response to some of the questions. She had her surgery in Beverly Hills at New Life Center. Her surgery was paid in full upfront. She started having problems a couple of months ago. She started losing weight to fast. Her dr unfilled her band and she still continued to lose weight to fast. She saw her dr this past Monday she weighed 230 he asked her to come back Wednesday to see another dr. She weighed 226.6 on Wednesday. The dr she saw then said they couldn't do anything for her because she doesn't have insurance. He told her to go to an ER.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
