I had my first post-op appointment today (surgery was 9/27) I have los

Oops new phone, I hit send by accident! Anyways, I have lost 21.5 pounds! Surgeon said I am doing very well! I was happy to hear that as I feel like a lot of threads that I read, everyone seems to be losing more much faster. I also got my first fill today, 1.5 cc fill. He had me drink Water make sure it would go down, it did. Now that I am home though, it seems much tighter than at the office! Is this normal? As this is my first fill since the original 2.5 cc fill during surgery. I don't know what normal feels like. Any advice is appreciated!

It is normal to feel swollen after a fill, that is why some doctors order liquids for 24 to 48 hrs after. Did your doctor order that? Mind has me do 24hrs liquid, 24hrs mushie, then regular diet.

Good luck.

21.5 lbs is great, I had my first fill on Friday and was 23lbs down at 6 weeks (Surgery Sept 17th). I am happy with that. I don't feel restriction on my band yet so need to focus on the eating. Good luck.

I'm 10 months post op, down 93 lbs from 213 to 120 & have had 4 fills. After each fill, I had 2-3 days of tight restriction so I did liquids then soft/mushy for a few days then to normal food. There are many things I can no longer eat but the trade off is worth it!!

I am on liquids for 24 hours and mushies for 24. I am still in the soft food phase of my post-op diet anyways so it doesn't change much except for the 24 hours of liquid. It's so cold and miserable here from Hurricane Sandy (power is out at my office so it's an unexpected day off!) the only thing that sounds good anyways is soup!

Wow! 93 lbs in 10 months! That is great! Congratulations! You must feel like a totally different person! Can I ask what type of exercise routine you have? Like how many days a week, for how long and what you are doing?

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
