Band Tightened Since I've Started My Cycle, Any Ideas To Help Loosen?

Recommended Posts

My band always seems to tighten the week before and of my cycle. Even though I typically will lose a lot of weight during this time, I am not enjoying this. I feel that I am at my happy place, however, when I am not experiencing this tightening. Any ideas ladies as to what I can do help relieve this pain from the increased Fluid build up? BTW, I can keep liquids down during this but other foods are difficult/ out of the question.

From what I have read from others posts, sipping a hot beverage, such as tea or some Soup may help with loosening your band.

I've never experienced this happening to me...so I can't say for certain that it works. Good luck!

I would watch your sodium intake around that time.

In the mornings I'm a little tight and my first thing is hot chai tea, not only good but it does ease my stomach.

Thanks for your replys. I can successfully say that the combination of Soup and taking some midol or tylenol has actually lifted some of the tightness. Weird right? Thanks for your input though and best of luck on your continued journeys!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
