Good for you! Sept 6 was my surgery date. Down 39 lbs, not everyone is the same, so weight loss is different. Honestly I wish I had done this 10 years ago. Learning that a little goes a long way. Eyes still think I need a full plate. Stomach just needs a few bites. Learn to listen to your body. Drink, drink then drink some more.

How does it feel after surgery&did you have to do the 2 wks. of liquids and if so how&what helped you to get through it.Because I know me If food wasn't a obstacle then we all wouldn't need this surgery....But I know I need&want it sooo bad.

Well alot of insurances approve people I have faith that you will be approved. What insurance do you have? If you don't mind me asking,as for me I have uhc choice plus right now&my job is in the middle of switching medical plans so the premiums can be cheaper, but it's still with uhc, they said it is still like the one I already have????I really hope so,cause I would be devastated if I couldn't get banded.ugh.

What did you have to go thru before getting banded? How did you get through the hard times? And how many cc you have in your band?

After surgery I was really sore. And I can tell I had gas stuck just like everyone said. I only had to do 5 days of pre-op. It was really hard for me the first 3days. Then after that I wasn't hungry. And my boyfriend did it with me even though he wasn't having any kind of surgery. So that helped ...plus I got scared that if I didn't do it right something might go wrong. Hope it will be easy for you. But we are all here for you!!!

Welcome!

I was banded 9 1/2 months ago and have lost 158 pounds so far. It's a lot of work, and I had to make lifestyle changes, but I absolutely love my band. I truly believe it saved my life. It's the best decision I've ever made for myself.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
