It happened to my best friend three years ago. She lost alot of weight but was extremely ill. Almost too late by the time they realized what was going on. Her body was rejecting it...almost killed her. This year she got the sleeve.

I had a different problem...Port Flipping. Went to get my first fill and found my port flipped. Most of the time flipping is at 45°-90° angle. No correction is needed for that. Mine flipped 180°. Dr went back in, repositioned & re anchored it. I see him on 11/19/12 & hopefully get my first fill. I was banded 9/7/12.

Thank you. I have totally fell off the radar here and MFP. Been extremely depressed about this and other things. I am an emotional and stress eater. With no restriction my brain could not do it alone. Wendys, Cheetos, and fried chicken have been my best friends again. Such a miserable feeling. Gotta go post on MFP and update my friends there. UGH

Question: if there is no port, how do you still have the band? It's all 1 unit... Did they just cut the port and tuning and leave the band? Sounds odd....

I still had a port. The needle goes in the top to fill. While healing, my port turned completely upside down. The bottom was facing up so the needle was unable to get in to fill the band. Port has a hose that connects to the band. I had a useless band only because of an inaccessible port. The port was removed from the muscle, relocated and resecured to a different muscle to reheal. The band was never touched nor was it ever filled. The band and port are separated by the tube. The same way a band can "slip" when there is no problem with the port, the port can "flip" when there is no problem with the band.

Hopes that helps you better understand what i'm going through. If it doesn't, ask your surgeon to explain "Port Flipping 180 Degrees". O:-)

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
