Help! What Should I Do?

Recommended Posts

Ok had another fill wed. I feel very swollen. Having a very hard time bit figured it will get better. I felt perfect my last fill. I don't know why he put more in. I eat a strawberry and now it's stuck! The pressure is Not so much on my chest as it is between my boobs. Should I try and get it up or it will eventually go down. I am not having major spit in my mouth but do have indigestion/burps that I can taste strawberry! I have a special wedding tot tonight and don't want to hurt myself! Advice please!!

If you didn't feel like you needed a fill, you should have told the doctor and not let him/her give you one.

That aside, you should not force any food back up. If it comes up naturally then it will.

Make sure you are standing up straight and try moving your arms in circles, walk around, to help it to go on through, works for me, it will take a few or more minutes. If all else fails, some say on here that pineapple juice helps with stuck episodes, but I have not tried this yet. Hopefully you don't bring it back up, but it may happen, I have not had this yet, but only on my second fill.

Also might want to double check with your doc on instructions of how to eat after a fill. My doc instructs that I can't have solid food until 4 days after a fill because of the possible swelling, I have to go through the process like after the surgery, but in 1 day intervals.

I thought he was just checking the level of fluid! I told him it felt perfect. I lost 11lbs for crying out loud!!

you do have stomach acid in the pouch so hopefully its working on it and should go down at some point keep sipping something to help it work. this is hard to get use to the tiny bits but after something lke this we understand better. keep walking also..

It will probably come up or go down. The important thing is you most likely irritated your esophagus and you should stay on liquids awhile.

Have a couple of questions. When was the fill? And how long after you ate did you try and drink your tea? If it has been in the last week you may have to just do Protein Shakes or mushy foods for a few days until the swelling and iritation goes down. I am very sensative to my fills. I have only had 3 in two years and I hate getting them because it takes me several weeks to adjust. If you can take in fluids you will be ok until Monday, if you are unable to take in fluids and are having reflux than you may need to call his service and see if they can see you in the emergency room.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
