I am getting my band on November 8th, and what an emotional roller coaster I have been on for the last couple of weeks! I just want to get this done already. As sure as I am that this is the right decision for me, it has not been an easy one to make. I am so excited for all the changes to come, but I am so scared of giving up my security blanket (food). Just sitting here writing this has brought up feelings of excitement, fear, sadness, nervousness...these feelings are wearing me out. Thursday cannot some soon enough!!!

I'm getting banded on the 12th, I'm a week into my 2 week pre-op diet. I have decided its not that bad I'm hungry and on day 4 I was pissy like a pregnant teenager but its tolerable now and so gonna be worth it. I really like this forum and you all have been very helpful in answering any questions I had so thanks. I also wouldn't mind joining the fb group (Richard Francia)

My surgery date is November15. My Dr gave me a sugar busters diet. I started low sugar per the sugar busters anything less than 3.5 grams of sugar, all whole grain items are ok. I'm having a really hard time trying to figure out what I can eat and I'm afraid I'm going to gain weight. Any suggestions? I do not know anyone who has had this surgery to get advice from.

Looks like you just need to stay from sugar, I was not given a diet but I did Protein and sf fruit in the am, ff lunch meat roll and veggie for lunch , Protein Drink and low cal frozen dinner, mix it up don't get bored, protein drink helps fill you up good luck 3rd day post op

Hi my name is Lori and I am scheduled for November 15th. I started my liquid diet on Thursday. It consist of 3 Protein Shakes per day plus SF Jello and pops. Was having a difficult time the past couple of days but woke up this morning with a new attitude and regained confidence. I haven't weighed my self since Thursday morning but I can tell I've lost weight. My stomach is a little flatter and my pants a lil looser at the waist. I ve only been on this website for a couple of day's but already it has helped me. Thank you all for sharing ur good and not so good experiences. It really does help! Hav a blessed day everyone. Oh and I would like to join the FB page as well. You can find me as LD Duran. I totally know how your feeling-- I use food for comfort. It will be a drastic change-- but we can do it! We will learn to use food for energy and health and find a more healthy way to deal with feelings!! ❤❤

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
