I'm another happy bandster who sometimes whirrs up a protein-drink based mocha in the blender.

Frappucino Style: I make *strong* coffee the night before and put it in a mason jar in the fridge. In the morning I pour a cup of cold coffee into the blender' date=' add a scoop of GNC's 100% whey Protein Powder- chocolate Flavor. I like to also add a splash of milk but you don't have to. Add a cube or two of ice and blend until mixed.

Hot Mocha Style: I've done this two ways and both worked fine. 1) Make a hot cup of coffee how you like it (Black? Milk? Sweetener?) Let it cool a little so it's not boiling hot then pour it in the blender and add a scoop of chocolate flavored Protein powder. Take care when you put the blender lid on and blend it gently- hot liquids can cause the lid to unexpectedly pop off but doing this with only one cup of warm liquid has never done that for me. Some people hold a dish towel over the lid just in case. 2) If I'm more in the mood for a richer cafe' au lait (milky) Protein Drink, I warm a cup of FF or 1% milk in the microwave for a minute or so, add either strong coffee (or espresso or even a spoon of instant coffee if I'm in a rush) then blend it with chocolate Protein Powder until just blended. (If I let my blender run and run, it whips air into the drink and I don't like that as much.)

If my band is fairly tight I can't drink this all down at once but instead, I just keep sipping it all morning and enjoy how indulgent it feels. :-)

PS I was never once told to stop drinking coffee but a bariatric surgeon did once state "Weight loss surgery patients have no business drinking coffee drinks that come in domed cups." I think he had in mind frappucinos with whipped cream.[/quote']

Thanks I'm going to try these :) Im having.surgery Oct 3rd so I will need.some good.protein drinks to try

You inspired me to experiment!! Here's what I did this morning with what I had: 1 cup warm coffee, 1 splenda, 1 scoop vanilla protien powder, 1 tbsp cocoa powder. Put it all in the blender. Yum Yum! Thank you~

As my mother would say "If you have to add anything to your coffee; you don't really like coffee."

That being said I drink mine black with splendra. Long ago gave up cream but really need it to be sweet. When I said to my surgeon I'm really going to miss coffee he said "Why?" I drink one cup of caffeinated and then switch to Decaf .

I used stevia and sugar free Creamer in my coffee every morning. The only time I was told to stay away from coffee was 2 weeks before surgery and 2 weeks after.

I was told the same thing. I was ready for that 2 weeks post surgery morning. I love my coffee and I use splenda and FF creamer.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
