Another Tricare (military ins) thread

Recommended Posts

I have been a busy woman today and had to share my latest tricare adventure. I went to my tricare office and they told me to have the doctor and hospital, etc. to resubmit the bill to tricare and maybe I could get back some of my money from the surgery. Along with my insurance lady at my surgeons office we have a procedural code that as of 3/1/2006 tricare is using to bill for the lapband. The code is 43770. I hope this helps some of you and I will keep eeryone posted on how my adventure for reimbursement goes!

Ok, so after talking to my insurance person at the surgeons office....she has contacted tricare and the code that is in there was incorrectly put in there and there are indeed not paying for the band. Please if anyone else gets any other answer please please please let us know.I am going to go sulk now......:faint:

I am a military dep. of an active duty husband. I have Tricare Prime and also since I am considered disabled I also have medicare part A, when you have part A you automatically also have Tricare for Life. It took some doing by my Doc but as soon as Medicare jumped on the bandwagon to approve Lapband, my area (TX) also did and I was immediately approved. I've been to my first appointment, seen the psychologist and have Pre-op on June 7th and surgery will be a week later. Let's not mention I have a super case worker at Wilford Hall, her name is Michelle and she is unbeliveable.

GOOD LUCK with Tricare it can be frustrating.

Oh, I forgot to mention, I am 35yo, 300lbs and have sleep apnea, diabetes, hypertension, joint issues and mild depression.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
