  • Hi Everyone... went back to work yesterday (desk job) after being banded on Friday 10/12. Surgical sites didn't bother me much the first few days but by Monday, the gas began to give me some shoulder

I was banded on 10/24 and didn't ask my doctor if he filled my band. I have an appointment on 11/12' date=' so I will ask him then. My concern is that whenever I eat (most times), I get full after eating like 1/2 c and then I usually get really really sleepy. In addition, I am so uncomfortable, like I am stuffed and just need to lie down. Sometimes I have pain on the left side under my left breast too. Does anyone else experience these issues?[/quote']

My left side was killing me but it will get better. I don't get sleepy I exercise a lot . Hope u feel better soon.;)

Banded on Halloween, was doing fine except gas pains now all of a sudden my left shoulder is killing me and under my left breast is aching. How long does the gas pains last???? Very uncomfortable right now!

What are you eating?

Have you tried charcoal pills? My clinic recommended those and they worked great! I had also been making my protein shakes with milk- which I normally wouldn't have a problem with. Since I've been banded (10/26) dairy has caused the worst gas pains of my life. This week, no dairy, happy me. Could just be the stomach swelling going down but I'm not taking my chances. Silk is my new best friend.

I had to get phazyme I think how you spell it ) for gas it's stronger than gas. X and gas x did nothing for me

How is everyone doing?!? Today was my 1st post op appt. ! They said everything looked great and I've done great! that made me happy. From pre op I am down 28lbs woo woo.. but have not lost anything in 5 days grrrr.. i know it happens. I started to eat food and it feels great.. other than not losing anything. I started to walk about a mile a day and will not since I am cleared start some cardio tomorrow.

any pointers for good work outs? and daily meals that are working?

Congrats and welcome to all of you October bandsters! Follow your doctor's post op diet, they are all different! Drink slow, but often and stay hydrated! Rest a lot and walk a lot. You may be tired for up to six weeks. Don't do strenuous exercise until your doctor clears you. Welcome to the losers club!

Thanks for the encouragement SueBee. I sleep a lot and get tired very easy. Glad to hear it is normal. I am getting better each day. It has been 9 days and what an improvement just in the last 3 days! Gas pains almost gone. Thank God for that!

day 9 and the gas pains are finally starting to ease up. I've never had anything quite like it! Hang in there. I found sitting helped more than standing so I have a vibrating heating pad I sit on that beats my back, then a heating pad on my stomach and then just grin and bear it.

Good luck. It will get better!! (and today is the first day I could say that and mean it!!) :)

Look in my blog, I posted a few recipes on there, they are SO good! Also for breakfast I am having 1/2 cup cottage cheese with some blueberries on top. It's low cal and high protein.

That's great who did your surgery! Where you in Texas? Where u afraid to eat?

I had surgery on 10/24. I was gradually losing weight since pre-op, however I haven't lost anything in a week. My first appointment since surgery is on Monday. Anyone else experiencing this? You know, the surgery was a lot to do, I just don't want to get worried, I want this to work. I think I am getting in all my protein now and I have increased my fluids (not all the way but it's better).

I dropped alot the first two weeks, but since then I've barely lost anything. It's super frustrating but I'm trying to focus on daily fitness, my water intake and protein first, I hope that will help lose it.
