  • Hi Everyone... went back to work yesterday (desk job) after being banded on Friday 10/12. Surgical sites didn't bother me much the first few days but by Monday, the gas began to give me some shoulder

I was banded Friday the 26 October did Zumba today I might pay for it later

Hello! We're you cleared for that type of exercise? I only say that because there are numerous complications that can happen from exerting yourself before your band and port are anchored good by scar tissue. Can you call your doc and see? I'd hate for a slip or a flip to happen.

All I have to say is props to those of you saying that ya'll didn't need pain meds. I feel like a whiney baby. Lol. I usually handle pain pretty well. Who knows, it might be my period added in the mix. Idk.

I take my pain meds right on the dot. Sometimes I want them sooner and have to wait. I'm in a lot of pain so don't feel whiny!

Yesterday was the day...October 30th. I am not in too much pain but when I sip I burp:( anyone else have that?

That's surgical gas. I am 6 days post op and stay burping.

It all depends on what they gave you and how they did the surgery. I was given a shot of heparin before surgery. I was banded 10-12 and I still have a bruise where they gave me the shot. It's also really close to where my biggest incision is and the most tender area. I go for my first post-op on Monday and get my first fill so hopefully they will be able to tell me how much of it is normal.

Congrats on banding :)

yes off and on. I blame a lot of it on the gas though

I have a lot of bruising. Very red around some of the incisions too. Something I will have to keep an eye on

2nd day post-op....banded on Halloween!! Not feeling too bad and tolerating my full liquids pretty well. Down 22 pounds from my seminar starting weight.

My bruising is starting to fade now, incisions were really red and itchy after surgery. When I called the dr they said I was probably allergic to the glue. Still have red now and had to take another course of antibiotics. I have a stitch sticking out of one incision that was supposed to be an inside stitch. I go for my first post-op on monday so hopefully they will get rid of it. I tried pulling it but its stuck, lol.
