I am getting nervous too' date=' starting the pre op this Friday. How is that working for you? This is the step that is getting me extremely nervous. would be great to keep in touch and see how we are doing in the journey. I am so glad I found this site.[/quote']

It is tougher than I thought. Hard to get in 4protein shakes a day. The dairy seems to be bothering my stomach. I don't usually drink milk. I may have to try soy and see if that is any better. Trying to keep busy. Friday was not bad because I was working but today is killing me I am off on the weekends.

I am off on weekends too. I work with the public and am worried my patience will be non-existent. lol! Thank goodness it's only 2 weeks and not 4 as I have heard some people have to go through. Have you tried doing it with lactaid? you may be lactose intolerant?

I am October 4th in Tampa! Oh my gosh it is almost here! I go Monday for my weigh in I have been on a liquid diet now for 16 days I have lost 21 lbs and I feel really good. It feels so nice to not be bloated up. The first couple days were tough but then it was fine, so easy I liked it! 5 Optifast drinks a day and Water.

So just 5 more days until the new life begins..............:) Good luck to everyone having their band surgery this month!!

No I have not but guess where I will head after I am done doing my laundry. :-) Thanks for the suggestion. I really did not want to do soy I really can't handle the after taste. I hope the lactate works otherwise its soy or Water. Thanks again I really appreciate your suggestion. Just have to make it past Sunday and I can keep busy at work to keep going.

I hate texting my phone picks different words. I meant lactaid I had to add it to my dictionary.

Hi there folks! I'm getting banded on a Tuesday, the 9th and will return to work on the following Monday. I'm hoping it goes as well as my gall bladder surgery did a few years ago. I was back at work on the Monday after I had surgery on Friday.

I've been on Optifast since Tuesday. Lost 6 pounds so far. It's not easy skipping on regular meals and having the Optifast but if I can't handle this, how can I handle the band and make the changes I need?

I'm so glad to have this website. I've read a lot of good post and articles. It's been a great encouragement.

My surgery is on a Wednesday 10/24. I am definitely taking off from Wednesday to Monday 10/29 ( that is my post op appointment ) . Then I will get a doctor's note and see how I feel. I am a high school teacher, so I don't want to have ANY pain/discomfort whatsoever...my job is stressful enough...

My surgery is October 8, and I am taking off a week. I am also a teacher who is now a district resource person. I don't want to be in pain dealing with staff and parents.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
