One Meal/snack At A Time...

Recommended Posts

If you have food demons like me, you may succumb to cravings a lot more than you want to. Everytime I fail (and I fail a lot), I just keep trying to make a better decision with the next meal and/or snack.< /p>

So tonight I was craving these poptarts...the last pack in the cupboard. The box is going on two weeks old and I had 2 when they were first purchased and I was disappointed in myself because of that and had managed to stay away from them. So I go upstairs, I grab the pack, rip it open...and shoved it all into the garbage disposal!!! It felt really good.

Good luck on your journey everyone!!

I guess we know why they call it a "garbage disposal"??

Good for you, get the garbage out of the house.

I do not live alone and I didn't want to go cold turkey on changing everyone's eating habits because I made such a drastic change. So I've been finding healthy swaps but it's just as process like anything else

I hear you. I have a husband who can eat anything & everything and he does.

I do have it in the house b/c I'm able to not touch it. If I was to take one taste, it would be over with. I am a foodaholic!!!

Just like a drinker except with food. So I choose not to touch it. My health has become my #1 priority.

Best Wishes!

we are stronger than (food). there is no need to be afraid of food. i heard someone say if its in the house, i am gonna eat it. really? is those Cookies and chips and junk/high fat food holding you hostage until you eat them? heck no. you MAKE UP YOUR MIND and choose to either not eat them or have a small amount.

the band is only a plastic band. about 3 inches long. they put it around your tummy to make you eat less (the fills will help with this later on). its up to us to eat good stuff and in small amounts. are we all perfect like elvis? no but we are stronger than we give ourselves credit for.

you are not dieting. if you want to eat something eat.

just dont eat it all.

have a great and wonderful day whomever reads this :)

Good for you!!! I have a 4 year old and my pantry has a few Snacks for him such as Goldfish and Gummy Snacks. I got the urge to eat some of those delicious little Goldfish last night...and oh my gosh...who'd of thought that those little buggers could cause such pain. I got my first real "stuck" episode and finally realized that I need to really think before I eat...those yummy little fish WERE NOT worth the pain.

I am hoping that I will remember this pain next time I start craving something.

I don't know how many times I've had "one" of something my daughter was snacking on and it ended up getting stuck an it's a miserable feeling. And you are so right, it's not worth the pain!

Just curious how many cc's are in your band. I haven't had any stuck foods yet. I only have 5 cc's in my band. I was banded 6/25/12.

3.5 cc's. I normally get stuck from not chewing thoroughly or if the food is too dry.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
