I was banded on Monday August 27th too! I'm super excited to get this journey started but at the moment I am battling a lot of trapped gas. Are you having any of this gas pain? What's working for you of so? Thanks!!!

I've been walking too and just got gas x strips. I also am having a hard time drinking the 64oz of Clear Liquids that's required per day. Did your doc request you to drink so much?

One of the tricks I read here was to get on all fours on the bed and lean down on your arms so your butt is higher up than the rest of you. It didn't get rid of it, but it did relieve it for a while. Just don't do it right after you've eaten or drank something cause it may also cause you to burp. I did this a few times yesterday and had hardly any gas pain today.

Day 3 post op for me and this has helped.

Thanks ladies! I will try the "butt in the air" trick too, lol! I just made some hot lemon Water with a teaspoon of sugar and that has released some of the discomfort, the nurse from my doctors office said I could be having spasms and the hot liquids would help. Please share your ups and downs especially with us being banded the same day, any help from what gives you comfort would be greatly appreciated. And YES I'd love to fast forward a month too!!!!

The heating pad worked best for me! It was my best friend. It still is sometimes at night.

I'm 2 days post op and don't know what I would do without my heating pad. The liquid pain meds seem to take off the edge of the pain but rotating the heating pad between my shoulders and my belly is a godsend

No ibuprofen....i've seen several people develop ulcers and bleeding from taking NSAIDs

Just my 2¢…I'm 2 days post op and am also a medical assistant. Stay away from any NSAID ie.. ibuprofen, motrin, Aleve. You want to use liquid tylenol. NSAID not only can cause erosion of the stomach but are very hard on your kidneys..

Four days post op never relized gas can be this painful and annoying!!

I never got it in my shoulder but it is in my tummy and walking which most recommend makes it worst for me.

At least everyday does get better just cant wait to not feel so bloated.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
