I didn't get the plication. I was going to but my dr stopped doing it about two months ago. He said they were having problems with it And he wanted to do more research before doing the plication again. Is that what you have?

That's awesome! 17 lbs! Yea I don't have a problem with liquids or the Protein Shakes. I still can't get all that I'm required down but I think it's because I'm scared I'm gonna hurt something. And I'm hungry! Which kinda worries me because I was told I wouldn't be for the first few days :/

When you get on real food the hunger goes away. I eat or drink every 2 hours... That's just when I get hungry so it works out well...lol. We are still newly banded... Hopefully the weight just falls off!!!

I hope so! Because right now my stomach won't stop growling. Either that or it's gas. Because I can't really get my Protein shakes down. I get nauseous. Ugh ready to feel better!

Congrats! I chose to stay overnight and for me it was a great decision. The nursing staff were able to manage my pain and nausea much better than I would have at home ( yea for IV meds!). I felt much more comfortable and less worried. If I had a question, I knew I would get the answer right then.

As far as the stomach growling, remember that is partly due to digestion rather than hunger. Now that you are banded, you will start to be able hear lots of 'noises'. Head hunger mostly. When you hear the growling, take a few sips of Water, etc. It helps it to quieten down :)

Yea I liked staying overnight for the medicine! I just wasn't expecting to. And I have come to realize in not hungry it's just my stomach being weird. Everytime I drink something or take my liquid Loratab it makes really weird noises for like 30 min! I hope that doesn't last forever. That would be embarrassing :o

Good luck tomorrow Alex and Joanne. I was banded last tues. (28th) and am starting to get around a bit better today. Still have pain in my chest and shoulder but just taking regular tylenol. Love my hearing pad. The first few nights I was up walking around about every 4 hours to get rid of pain. Think I might actually be able to sleep through the night tonight. But I will say the last few days went buy quickly. Even with everything I've been through I have never once questioned having it done or regretted it. You will be in my prayers tomorrow.

I had the same problem. The stomach pain stopped me and I had to wait for it to pass.... I was miserable. I stopped the liquids and Protein Shakes earlier than I was supposed to and started mushy food. Foods such as, cottage cheese, soft cheeses, scrambled eggs, etc and the pain went away. My pain was the gas in my stomach and not feeling satisfied with the shakes. Everyone is different and only you will know what your body can handle. Now I eat anything I want and make sure I chew it up very well. I avoid soda and fatty foods. Anything I can chew good enough I'll have but my portions are very small. You'll do great just trust yourself!! :-)

Oh wow. I don't know if I'd say I was miserable its just uncomfortable! And I'm not really hungry because I can't even get anything down. I have zero appetite. I did try some watery grits but I could only handle like 2 tbls and I was done. I think it's more me being scared of gettin sick than anything. That's good you could tolerate the mushies. I only have to wait until thur and then I'll get to eat more stuff. Until then I'm just gonna try and get my liquids and work on my Protein. I doubt I'll get much protein down right now

Just know its temporary and trust yourself. I got sick and vomited. This is the time to learn what your body can and can't handle.

If you are having trouble getting the Liquid Protein down, try different brands. They all taste different. Find what works, or get Syntrax Nectar unflavored Protein. It dissolved clear in any liquid or you can mix it with Soup. I used to mix it with crystal light. Try to get some protein in, it will help with the hunger too! When I got to mushies, I would eat about 1/4 to 1/2 a c every 2-3 hours and drink Water in between. Try to drink as much water as you can too as it helps to give you that full feeling too!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
