Hi everyone! I was banded on September 21st. I feel like crap still :(

Hang in there SJC it will get better. I had alot of soreness my first 2 weeks. I was banded on the 10th and just started to be able to sleep on my side. I still get alot of gas and burping hurts. Just stay strong and you will get through it. If this was easy everyone would be doing it.

Hello September bandsters!

I was banded Sept 11th, in at 8am and home by 12 noon. Admittedly 1st day was awful but somehow while i was under something happened to my left shoulder which was more painful than the healing stitches. By day 4 I was out and about and have been back at work the past few days. I am eating pretty much soft veggies, eggs and baked potatoes. I have not experienced any eating problems, gagging or nausea? I'm almost thinking the doctor forgot to put the device in and just made some incisions. I'm kidding ( I hope) but I actually feel great. I have been walking regularly but want to start going to the gym soon and aquafit once the stitches are healed. The only disappointing thing is no great weight loss. I have lost 18 lbs so far in the past 4 weeks including the 2 week pre-op fast? But it's 18 lbs and the goal is that much closer.

My clinic has a lap band support group and I will be attending the first time this Wednesday. I honestly don't know anyone else personally that has the band so am looking forward to meeting local people that can offer insight.

I have only told a few close colleagues and of course family, they have been a great support and behind me from the get go.

So to all of us that have been or are being banded in September, Congratulations!! I look forward to hearing how everyone is doing.

Hi Everyone! I was banded on Sept 18 and the first week, I lost 11.2lbs. I can eat soft foods on Tuesday (that will be two weeks from surgery) and I'm ready! I'm over liquids and Protein shakes!

I'm ready to feel like I have more energy and like myself!

Good luck to everyone. I enjoy your reading your posts!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
