5.5Cc Fill....wondering What Now?

Recommended Posts

Bygone have any idea about how much you should be able to eat at a meal and feel comfortable with 5.5cc in a 10cc band? I was in bandster hell the week leading up to my fill and somewhat frustrated with myself bc I knew I was eating more than I should have been able to.....and my obsession over food came back so I was grateful for the liquid/mushy stage (felt like I lost a bit of control).....I have continued to lose weight and I am down 26 lbs since my surgery 6/6/12 I guess I just want to do this right

I had my surgery May 11th and was experiencing the same as you. I have a 10 cc band and on Thursday he put in .3cc. I'm hoping this helps me as well with the feeling of wanting to much all the time.....I havent had that feeling since surgery but the last two weeks have been terrible. I cant have anything mushy until Monday at lunch so it's Protein Shakes until then. Since surgery it's been 27lbs and 35lbs pre op so I'm happy with the results and still feel this was the best thing that I've done for myself.

You should be eating 1 cup of solid food at each meal three times a day. Stop eating when you feel full don't eat if you are not hungry. Eat your Protein first.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
