My date is 8/27!!!! I'm nervous! I'm almost more so about the pre- op diet. I need the strength and will power.

I'm 32 and almost 2 years ago my husband passed away suddenly. Since then I have given up on me and life. I now hoping to learn to live again. I'm scared of complications and such but it's time. I know this surgery can't bring my husband back but it has the possibility of bringing me back. I owe that to him and my family and most important myself. 3 more weeks until my new birthday:)

Sounds like you've had a real rough time, well done for going for it. You are the day before me so we will be able to compare notes on how we are doing. Jacqui x

Got my date Friday August 28th guess I'm going to be an August bandster after all.

I'm sure he would be very proud of the decision you've made and will be looking over you as well.

Yay another fellow bander, 28th is a Tuesday though.

I get banded on August 16th. Currently on day 4 of my 2 week liquid pre-op diet and doing o.k. so far.

August 13th! I'm finishing up day 3 of the pre-op diet. So far so good, and I'm on vacation. I thought it would be awful, but it hasn't been bad. I hope this continues! Now I worry that the back end of thediet will be the tough time for me.

August 7th for me. Day after tomorrow and I cannot wait. So excited!

Hello My name is Cass.

My birthday is August 30th, and guess what. That will be my surgery date too! i am so excited to receive this gift to myself.

Oops I ment Tuesday August 28 is my surgery date.

Good luck to all my fellow bandster buddies who are getting banded tomorrow, August 6th! I pray for us to have no complications and a speedy recovery! Hopefully, minimal if not zero pain and soreness too! And too all August bandsters as well :)

congratulations, that's my surgery date as well. Now there's 3 of us that day...

Aug 10th for me

Good luck to all who will be receiving their band tomorrow. I pray for a pain free recovery!

I'm done! The two year journey to get banded was over Friday the third. Now I'm on the rest of the journey to a healthy me. I'm down 24 pounds from preop dieting. That leaves 70 to 80 pounds to go. I'm ready to get well into this segment of the journey.

This weekend has not been bad. I Stayed high most of the weekend from my Dr 's well prescribed loritab.

I have not told my parents or extended family about the surgery. I figure anouther 20 or 30 pounds they will start to ask. I don't have a supportive relationship with family. Or I should say extended family so its not like I lean on them much. That's what my bride is for anyway! She has been supportive and amazing throughout.

On the ney sayer front. A cousin who is an OR nurse called me Saturday to ask how I was doing and how he couldn't believe I had "THAT PROCEDURE " done. His wife is also an OR nurse and works at the hospital I had my surgery. After his 2 or 3 condescending remarks about lap band failure and maintenance required to be successful I decided to discuss the hippa law. I'm quite sure I made my point.

To the rest of the August bandsters, good luck and don't sweat it. So much more to say but the loritab is taking my thoughts and concentration.

Mike
