I agree we all are a bit different in our response to LB surgery. Not only that, but so is our response postOp in our new Life in learning how to eat like a normo.

My own pain level was virtually non-existent as of Day 2...however the 'anxiety' part was maxed out.

In my own 7 years of various LB episodes of "what NOW?" and "THIS isn't what I expected" etc, the really great results is the Band has helped tremendously.

Sometimes its easier than others, yet there hasn't been a day the first 6 years I wasn't grateful and willing to do whatever it took to succeed and reach my goal.

I did drop from BMI 47.5 down to 34, and managed to weigh less than I did since 1963...although that was still "25#" above my goal.

I have been a Happy Bandster.

Recently some issues have required imaging studies, which were done today. Pending results from that, I'm STILL a Happy Bandster.

Good luck to all in their Journey.

I can't lie. It is painful. However, it was completely worth it and I'd do it all over again!

As others have said, do not be afraid! The surgery is a wonderful thing. I woke up pretty much painless, besides from the gas which went away an hour or two after. I had little to no issues with pain what-so-ever and even after being back home, I have only used maybe 8 out of my prescribed 25 pain pills as a precaution the first four mornings. When you are getting ready for the surgery in the hospital, just lay back on the bed (if they provide you with one pre-op) and take deep, long breaths. Relax yourself, or ask if they have anything to calm your nerves. It will be all over within a few hours and you will be on your way to recovery! :)

Got my haircut today and its always amazing how much better i feel afterwards.
i have always considered it an odd thing that i enjoy a haircut so much.
The smell of the barbershop (no salons allowed) and the whole scissors and clippers feel and sound is so relaxing.
I have had the same barber since 1987 and i am not sure how i will handle it if that guy ever dares to die on me. I am pretty sure that the magazines on the bottom of the stack are the same ones from my first visit.
just started Ron Powers -Mark Twain Biography- enjoying it

I have to say, even more than 2 years out, it is so much easier to be good when your busy and so easy to go wrong when your bored.  Crappy weather and the wife is sick so i feel trapped in this house and i have to really watch myself.  At least the holiday leftovers are gone.
Going to get out this week even if for only a few hours, maybe go see  Ford vs Ferrari that looks real good.
Ok, whining over, I hope everyone is doing well and had a good thanksgiving.

I hear ya. I notice the only time I ever "feel like eating" when I'm not actually hungry is when I'm watching TV for too long.
