First Fill... Wasn't Bad At All

Recommended Posts

I had my first fill yesterday. I was banded on 6/5 and yesterday my doctor added 5cc's to my 11cc band. I'm excited to start feeling some more restriction. Surely the 5cc's will help?

My next fill isn't until September, until then I plan to start working out! Ready to get the scale moving lower and lower.

The fill itself didn't hurt, some discomfort but I will say that my doctor is awesome, pricked me once, did what he needed to do and I was outta there.

I'm getting my first fill today. My doc does it under X-ray, but I don't think it's much different.

Ugh! Hit send by accident... Anyhow glad everything was good for you. How long are you on liquids? Mine is 24-48 hours as tolerated then mushies, etc... I think I'm more anxious about the liquid diet than the needle.

My doc actually just had me lay down and sit up like I was doing a crunch and then he felt for it. Liquids for two days for me, I was kinda sad about that when he first told me but I had some Soup yesterday and it wasn't too bad. Today I'm going to have some Greek yogurt.

i had mine last week, my doc said 24-48 hours but I ended up having to do 5 days for my body. I got really bad stomact pains the one night I tried to eat. Good luck my weight loss started back up after the fill forsure.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
