So is 5CC too much to start out with in a 11 cc band? I thought that was too much but I drank some Water and it went down ok. She said the normal cc is 8 in a 11 cc band.

I get a my first fill in 3 wks and was told today it would be 2 cc in a 10 cc band. She said my next fill after that would also be 2 cc.

I thought it would be 2 cc but when she said 5 cc I did not argue and when the Water went down without trouble I was ok with it. LOL..I guess when I start to actually eat something then I will know.

Do you have a lapband or a realise band?

Then that makes sense. Typically people with Realize bands need larger amounts of fill to feel restriction than those with Lapbands. Something to do with it being a low pressure band. I have even heard of people with the Realize band having more fill in than the band is actually designed to hold.

I had 5cc as my first fill in may. It was great, I just went last week for my second fill and got another 2cc in.

I have the Realize band too and my first fill was 5 cc. I go for my next fill on the 25th and I have no idea how much he will put in! I have had some restriction with the 5 cc's.

I'm in Huntsville. I am still able to eat most anything I want. I do have an issue with any kind of meat once its reheated. And just a week ago I had my first real stuck episode on a bite of steak. Seemed to be going fine at first, but the colder the meat got, the harder it was to go down. I don't know if its all im my head or not, but the past couple weeks when it has been 95+ out, I seemed to have more restriction. Weird. This thing is definatley a learning process!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
