I had my surgery last year in October. So, over 9 months ago. I have done great losing approximately 50 lbs. I had good restriction, etc. However, as soon as it got hot in the summer the restriction vanished. I have had two fills in the last two weeks, mind you, the only fills I have had since my surgery in October. Neither which have helped. I am going in again on Monday to get another fill. I am just wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar? I am positive it is the heat. I now can eat anything and I miss the restriction. I know it is a matter of tweaking and finding my green zone, but want to get it back desperately and will strive to do so. I have at least another 50 lbs. to go and I will not stop until I achieve my goal, but just curious if anyone has had the same pitfall? Advice? Suggestions? Support? lol Thanks!

Increase the exercise to jump start losing again. Longer walks.

Under normal circumstances most people can take 4 to 6 fills before they start feeling the full restriction u say at the minute you have only had 2 fills so u probably do need a couple more. You have probably lost some of the visceral fat around your tummy now and the band is looser than it started off, summer may have a slight impact on the restrictions levels but not to that extent, its more likely to do with your loss of internal fat .. keep getting your fills now till hit your gren zone and u will feel ok about the band again :) good luck !

I'm surprised you are getting multiple fills so quickly. It can take up to 2 weeks for a fill to take effect so I'm not sure you even know if your last fill is working yet. FYI I did not get restriction until 10.6 cc's.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
