Is this normal? Bandster hell or something? I feel like a big fat failure...

you've lost 30lbs. That seems like you are doing very well and right where you should be at this point. What is an average day of food like for you? Are you journaling? Don't get discouraged.

I could be wrong, but it sounds like head hunger not physical hunger. If so, that has nothing to do with bandster hell or the band itself. Unfortunately the band can't fix our minds.

If you really feel like you've lost control, perhaps you might consider counseling to help you deal with it. It really can help a lot.

Best wishes

I am out of control, but I also don't feel full at all and am overdue for a fill... But I can't remember what restriction feels like. Hoping I remember after my fill!

I keep seeing this head hunger comment? I'm not sure what that is? Can't I just love the taste of a chicken fried steak and eat it because it tastes good? I mean, I don't, but I had a glass of chocolate milk today just because I love the flavor. I wasn't hungry, just wanted what I want.

Head hunger is when you REALLY want to eat but aren't physically hungry. Many of us struggle with it. I know I have to ask myself regularly if I'm physically hungry or just want to eat for the sake of eating.

It's different than loving the taste of food, it's a strong almost drive or craving to eat when you're not physically hungry at all. Resisting the urge to eat when having head hunger, not physical hunger, can be extremely hard to resist or ignore, too.

Mis73, OK, thanks. I may do that occasionally. I think before the band I did that often. Only I would make a large quesadilla with a couple of tortillas and a bunch of cheese. Or, a large bowl of popcorn. Now, maybe a pear, peach or dill pickle.

Hmm? Seems like that head hunger thing doesn't happen anymore? Gee, I wonder why that is? I must have found some super power the allows me to not feel hungry anymore? I should find a way to market this new power I have and make a bazillion dollars? :D NAAAAAA!

Depending on your age some of it could be hormonal. I find when I ovulate I get more urges to eat. I try not to keep any Snacks in the house to reduce the damage. Right before TOM I tend to crave saltier foods.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
