How Are All My July 3Rd Bandsters Doing?

Recommended Posts

I just want to know how is everybody who got banded on July 3rd doing? I was banded on

July 3rd like around 5:20pm and the worst days for me was the first two post-op days; today I am feeling pretty good and gas pain free Thank God. Today I was curious to know what I was weighting after more than 15 hrs without eating and drinking and 3 days on liquids and I have lost almost 7 lbs. I couldn't believe it. But yes so far so good for me. How everybody else doing?

Congratulations and glad you are feeling better. 7 pounds is a great loss. At least you are not gaining anymore.

Banded July 2... Feeling pretty good. Still have gas pains and this morning a new kind of pain near band area (made a new thread about that). Emotionally it was hard around day 3....I was a mess but it's been a lot better!

I had my surgery on the 3rd. I am doing good. I had little gas pain which is great from what I am hearing online. I did have several days of feeling nauseau(sp?). I don't have much energy or desire to do anything. I have pretty much moved from the bed to the couch. I really need to work on my mental being. I have to give myself shots each day but it isn't all that bad. I am hungry a lot and I wake up starving around 5 each morning. I can tell that I am getting better each day but I hate the thought of going back to work :-(

I was also July 3, and everything went GREAT for me. I had very little pain from surgery some gas pain through yesterday. I finally got out the house today and did my first full walk regimen. I am so excited about getting the LB. I have lost 9 lbs and still don't have an appetite. I am getting tired of Protein Shakes though. But have 7 more days to go. I wish all of you the BEST!!

So happy we all made it to a week and I hope we are all feeling better each day!

I know that all doctors are different but I was on a clear liquid diet only and could only have a few sips of Isopure, if needed. Today, I met with the P.A. and she told me that I should have had Isopure over the last couple of days. I am not that bummed but was really lightheaded and had no energy. But, I did lose a total of 15 pounds.

I now want to compare my Week 2 Diet to others others out there...

Hi !

I was banded the 5th, so you all who had it on the 3rd have two days or so on me but I needed to see your posts tonight. I was feeling so bad about not feeling good yet! So my surgery was Thursday and the nurses said by Monday (today) I'd be back up to par and ready to go to work. Well I work from home so that's not the issue but I'm far from par. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. I stopped the pain meds Saturday night, just made me too drowsy. I had the shakes really bad today and had a gas bubble that took up residence in my chest making it hard to breath or swallow. I have had hives since Saturday, not sure what from. I haven't weighed myself yet but sure I'm down because my yoga pants are loose. I love my Protein Shakes on my liquid diet but that's really all I want to have, I hate Jello, cream of wheat and sugar free popsicles and last time I had three Protein shakes in one day, I think I got gout! I miss working out. Just feeling dumpy today.

It is amazing what 2 days makes! I honestly did not think I would be feeling progressively better each day but it does really happen. I am still uncomfortable and cannot sleep on my side but have improved a lot over these two days. When I went to the dr today (I saw the P.A. though) she told me that I could start to exercise and not to lift more than 25 pounds. I feel that I am now where ready for that and will stick to walking as exercise especially with the hernia repair. But, I know that I baby myself when I have an injury and maybe it takes me longer to heal.

I also stopped the pain meds at day 5 and are better off without them.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
