7 Out Of 7 Cc Hop Will Get Restricted!!!!

Recommended Posts

Hi

I have my 6thcc today then I went lunch to test it, I eat a whole small pizza! I went back to the doctor asking him for another fill as I am not happy with my current eating habit. He gives me another cc where all come together to 7CC I haven’t eat anything after that but I am hoping to feel real restriction this time. The doctor Saied we can add more than 7CC in a 7CC band! Is that possible?

Just because you can eat a whole pizza doesn't mean you should. :o

I am sure I could still eat a whole box of chocolates. If I keep going to get fills to try and stop me then I am going to end up in trouble. We all need to remember that we have to play our part too - the band doesn't do everything.

Yes I understand that I need to play my part, but it shouldn't be that way. I eat it because I want to test the band, a friend of mine said he cant eat more than 2 slices of pizza and he feel really full. I know many people banded and lots a lot of weights because the band stop them not by themselves.

I can not eat more then I piece of pizza. And no you don't need to test your band, Its not like it is in charge you are. Eating until you are stuffed is what got you here. My Dr would have flipped out if I went back because I could eat a whole small pizza never heard of a 7 cc band.

If I read your post correctly, you went to lunch and ate a pizza right after a fill?? I thought most doctors advised liquids for at least a day after a fill.

Also, it sounds like "testing" your band is going to cause you a lot of problems in the future. The feeling of "full" pre-band is very different from the feeling of "full" after being banded. I never get that full, stuffed feeling anymore. I get various physical signals that tell me I better stop eating now if I don't want problems or complications!

Sorry, A lot of us make assumptions people have Lapband or Realize band. I was just reading up on the Midband which is used in Australia. Makes sense to me now.

Yes I understand that I need to play my part, but it shouldn't be that way.

Maybe it shouldn't but unfortunately it is. It doesn't matter what kind of WLS you have you still have to do your part. None of them will make good choices for you and none of them will make you exercise.

The problem is that you are likely to end up with a band that is too tight and too tight bands lead to slips, reflux, aspiration and other complications. Unfortunately even a band that is tight enough to do this cannot stop you from eating "bad" foods. Foods such as crisps, chocolate, icecream, crackers etc will still slide right through. You will be hungry as these foods are not satisfying and you will probably gain weight.

It seems to me as though you were not educated about how the band works before getting it. Lets go over a few things.

It doesn't stop you eating the wrong stuff.

It doesn't make good food choices.

It doesn't guarantee weight loss

However if you work with it properly it is a very powerful tool that will assist you if you make good choices.

Next time you get a fill follow the Dr's instructions. Generally they require you to stick to liquids for the rest of the day, then soft foods as tolerated the day after. Skip the pizza. If you want to see if your band is working then have a meal of firm Protein (beef, chicken, lamb, fish) with some veg and a good quality carb. Take small bites and chew well. Your aim is not to eat until you feel ill or stuffed but to eat until you are no longer hungry. Then see if you can go a couple of hours without needing food again. Note I did not say without wanting food again as there is a huge difference.

I don't think many Dr's in Aus use Midband. The majority use the Lapband or Realize Band. I think Midband is made by a French company.

There's a common misconception that the band is supposed to make you feel "full" or "stuffed". Granted, sometimes it does, but it's meant to make you feel satisfied sooner not stuffed full. I see thread after thread of people complaining about not having enough restriction because they can eat a pizza or three cheeseburgers. Well of course you CAN eat it, but if you slow down and stick to 1/2-1 cup of food per meal you will likely realize you are satisfied.

Looking for that stuffed full feeling we got from eating (over eating) before being banded results in lots of trouble, most often people getting over-filled in their attempt to find it and ended up with a slip.

Quit testing your band, because the fact is the band won't fail but you could end up failing yourself.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
