Got my first fill last Monday, I don't know how much they put in but I am hungry between meals.

I go in for another next Monday, what do I do between meals?

I have been eating Protien bars anybody have any suggestions?

I would ask your surgeon how much is in your band next time you're there and keep track, it's always good to know.

I personally would not rely on Protein Bars for hunger between meals. They are typically very high calorie and some have considerable sugar, too.

Restriction in the band usually takes at least a couple fills, until then, you have to struggle through on your own willpower. Stick to the rules your surgeon gave you in the meantime, make sure your meals are not more than a cup of food per meal, and get all your Protein in. If you have to eat between meals, try to choose something that isn't going hurt your weight loss efforts, like Greek yogurt or low fat cottage cheese. Even a 60 calorie sugar free pudding would be better than a 180 calorie Protein Bar as a snack.< /p>

Good luck.

They say it takes 3 - 5 fills before green zone. After my first fill I didnt feel anything and I was very hungry. I called my Dr office and they told me to eat protien Snacks inbetween meals till I get to green. I ate cottage cheese, almonds (small amount), string cheese. THose things lasted longer. It is still really bandster hell till you get to green zone. I had my 3rd fill this week and I am now at 5.6cc and I finally feel what the band is suppose to be doing for me. Before, it was just another hard diet.

Thanks I have talked to my dr. When I got my fill, and he said Protien bars are ok stay away from ones that are high in calories. Cottage cheese yogurt shakes are options too.

They said to just watch your calories.

My doctor frowns on Snacks. I agree with previous poster most Protein Bars are high in cals. If you must have one I would look for less than 220 cals with at least 20 g Protein. As mentioned above Greek Yogurt, cottage cheese, and low fat string cheese are good snack options. I often had a Premier Protein shake for a snack between lunch and dinner before my work out (160 cals, 30 g protien).

The goal is three meals no Snacks but they told me until green zone I would need to eat Snacks. It was recommended to yogart cottage cheese, string cheese. Small but filling protien snacks.

It will get better ;)

I really just need to say reading these posts help so much! I had my 1st fill on Monday July 9th and I haven't felt much of a difference & I am hungrier BUT I am still pressing on. If I NEED a snack I normally resort to a Light String cheese & it usually helps. I failed to ask my md when I should have my next fill, but I assume it is when I can eat more than I currently can. I am guessing another couple of weeks out. I love this site & everyone's post, so thanks!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
