I had my first fill 6/4 she put in about 3.8 cc...between surgery and fill i was able to eat as much as 6 oz of Protein plus veggie and sometimes a carb, and still walk away hungry. after fill i eat same amounts, but it satisfies me...according to dr sarker and the nutrtionist, its still too big portion so i go back july 9 for another one.

before fill i was eating 3 meals of that size but snacking with fruit in between...now i just eat my 3 meals and average 250-350 calories per meal. i havent lost in the last 10 days or so, and dont think i will lose much before my next fill, unless i lose it from exercising.

Welcome, Dr Shayani is my surgeon as well. Can not stop prasing him and his team, everyone met and exceded my expectations. I was just banded June 5th, so I'm only a weeks post-op. I'm in Park Forest, so not far from you at all. Hopefully we will get a chance to meet at the monthly meetings Tina host. I wish you the best of Luck on your new Jurney. Keep in touch.

Welcome! I live about an hour south of Chicago, in a small town called Bourbonnais. I moved here just this year for a work. So making new friends is very important to me and once close by going through this journey too, is even better! Nice to meet all of you! I'm Maria :D

Nice to meet you Ashley, I was actually referred by my current Dr. to you're Dr. if I wanted to travel North instead of South. But I have family in Champaign & go there so much that I figured this was a better choice for me. I am trying to prepare for my surgery but not easy since my pre-op apt isn't til July 5th less tan 2 weeks before my surgery date. Thankfully they gave me some info about the diet so I'm more prepared. Just gotta find the money to start buying what's necessary. Still researching liquid Vitamins, need a multi-Vitamin, Calcium, Iron and melatonin. I work nights & sleep days. Any advice or suggestions welcomed! Thanks!

You might want to consider Centrum chewables for a Multi-Vitamin. Of course, check with your surgeon and dietitian. I have been using the chewables since before surgery. I buy them at Wal-mart.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
