Great!!! I will be banded Tuesday 6/19/12 at around 2pm and I am really anxious about getting it done, finally after all the battles you have to overcome to get to this point.

Best of luck to you on your surgery and your jouney to be healthy and thinner!!!

That is awesome. Just remember that when you wake up SIP the liquid they give you or you will be in pain. Also, make sure to take your pain meds and walk as much as you can. Try to sip every 15 mins or so to keep hydrated. I've had my band since 2/17/2012 and I love it. I've lost 38 lbs. Don't focus on weight loss the first 6 weeks this is a healing time. I didn't lose a pound! my 1st 6 weeks so just give your body time to heal. Good Luck!

jc thankful has given you some sound advice. is tarted becoming frustrated cause every day i would step on teh scal and for the first 6 weeks i lost maybe.. 3 lbs.. i thought this wasnt working.. this is not great.. something is wrong.. allow you body the time to heal properly and dotn focus on weightloss. they gave me ice chips when i woke up.. liek jc thankful mentioned.. whatever liquid ur allowed to haave .. make sure ur utilizing it to keep hydrated. i had a nasty taste in my mouth.. ecck.. ignore it if you do and crunch away on the chips. buy some ice.. you know the italian ices.. sugar free of course.. for the days after sugery. it was very soothing going down.

good luck with everything.. :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
