Ate so well... all day. Then after a very healthy band sized dinner... I got fixated on a hot dog. I struggled with head hunger for over an hour.

Then I gave in. Grrrrr. And I ate two hot dogs, sans bread.

And then I wanted something sweet. And I went to the pantry and found the only sweet thing in my entire house. chocolate frosting.

And I gave in again and had several spoonfuls.

I suck. I am so disappointed in myself.

Arrrghhh.

I know tomorrow is a new day. But it really makes me angry when I cave to the head hunger. I have been giving myself pep talks all day today to be strong tonight. Nighttime is hard for me. I hate the power food has over my life!!

I want my power back.

Brush your teeth right after dinner, use a strong mouth wash too. I don't know why but when I do this, I don't want to eat anymore, i guess because the food won't taste good with a minty flavor!

Sounds like u are bored or inactive of an evening and that is when your mind starts playing tricks on you, i know if i sit around after my evening meal just watching tv i get head hungry so i dont do it, i set my exercise bike up in front of the tv get a few sugar free sweets/candy to suck on and i cycle ,, go for a walk, get to the gym or just do something to take your mind off food. Drink plenty of fluids and dont have temptation food in the house. Do you need a fill ?

I find brushing my teeth helps me too. Same for at work and snacking at work.

But I also find that the later I stay up, the more I eat or am tempted to eat. My goal (obviously not tonight) is to be in bed asleep by 9-9:30pm. Even if i have to take a benadryl to make me drowsy and force sleep... Just to get out of the habit of getting a second wind and staying up. My eating is worse after 8pm.

Keep your head up. They say all things in moderation. I think the key is not to do that 5x a day everyday for the next 3 weeks. THAT would suck.

I say this because I'm struggling too. I have found that I am wanting things I didn't even want before surgery. And I'm only 3 weeks out. I have had a few bad choices and got frustrated with myself over it... BUT I also realized that it's all things in moderation. I tell myself that I have to keep track, for accountability and if I see a pattern, I'll have to do an intervention on myself. LOL.

Before the surgery, before the liquid diet, I had found a balance in my eating where I had NO cravings. I didn't watn caffeine, or sugar, or carbs or Protein... I Just ate so balanced that all was well. I didn't even want to snack. I so want to get back to that because I'm all outta whack. And I have found that when I have a craving it's because I'm out of balance. It is possible to deal with those. I truly believe that.

However, I'd also like to say that I don't believe denial solves anything. I don't mean bingeing, but if I want a cookie, when I am able, I'll have one. ONE cookie a week is not going to kill me. Now if I am an addictive type of person who can't eat just one...yeah, not a good move to go down that road, but I'm not. At least not with Cookies. LOL.

Keep your head up. Know you're not alone. And one more thing... One thing I learned in during my weight loss is that it's all about numbers.

If I burn 2000 calories a day and I eat 1500 a day and there are 3500 calories in a lb, then every 7 days I'm going to lose 1 lb. If I eat 1000 calories a day, I'll lose 2lbs a week. If I eat 1800 calories a day I'll lose a lb every 17 days. The point is, it is an average. If I want to lose 1 lb a week, as long as my calorie deficit equals 3500 less every 7 days, I'll lose it. If one day I eat more but over the next two days eat less, as long as it balances out, it still works.

So don't beat yourself up over a slip. Just start anew tomorrow. If you hadn't given in, you might have done worse. Don't lose sleep over it. Just keep pressing on tomorrow! :)

Yes. I am bored. I know that when I veg out and watch TV I tend to cave to head hunger. Hence my pep talks all day. I made a metal plan to walk my dog and swim laps tonight. Unfortunately I didn't follow through.

Not beating myself up. Just venting. I hate hate hate feeling powerless. Especially when I have been doing sooo good.

Don't need a fill. I have surgery scheduled in 3ish weeks to reposition my band and repair a hiatal hernia. My Dr actually wants to remove all my fill until them... but I didn't want too.

Temptation foods are out of our house. I am making cupcakes for a baby shower this weekend. Oops. I'll wait until time to bake before shopping next time.

Littlefoot... Thanks for the pep talk. Sorry you are struggling right now too. Hang in there!! It honestly does get easier the further out from surgery you get. :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
