Good thing it is only a week. Mine is two weeks but I started 2 weeks early with 1 shake a day and have progressed to my required 2 shakes a day. I think it helped since I had a few slip ups in the beginning but it has slowly started getting easier now.

Hang in there you are sliding into home base...I want to do like you TXgirl1 and start slowly with the protien shakes and by the time I am on the pre-op diet I will be use to the protien shakes and maybe it will feel more like normal(hopefully at least) I am praying my DR is merciful enough to have me do the shakes for beakfast and lunch and a low carb/ low fat meal for dinner) instead of only Protein Shakes all day

I used pre-op diet as a game to see how much weight I could lose prior to surgery. If you feel the need to chew, find some ice cubes. You can also blend shakes with cubes to get a thicker texture, or use sugar free syrups to change the taste.

Good luck! Also try some sugar free ice pops. They have been my life saver during my two week pre op.

At Walmart they have sugar free Italian ice they are wonderful and you crunch them up into a slush or you scoop them out with a spoon for the added crunch I started eating them years ago to control my diabetes I love them good luck

I just started pre-op today too and it's hard! I shouldn't have had a pig fest yesterday becauxse I think it's making today that much harder! I don't like the shakes but I can handle them. It's the Protein bars I'm having trouble with. I had a chocolate peanut one this morning and I threw it out. Gross!

10 days to go!

I totally feel the same way. My dr. requires a 2 week Protein Shake diet and I am on day 3. It is awful. I cannot stand the shakes. They make me gag. I was only able to drink one today and it was hard to get down. Does anyone know if it is okay to just not have anything but Water? I don't know if I can drink one more of those things. I left a message for the doctor's office but they haven't called me back yet.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
