Good thing it is only a week. Mine is two weeks but I started 2 weeks early with 1 shake a day and have progressed to my required 2 shakes a day. I think it helped since I had a few slip ups in the beginning but it has slowly started getting easier now.

You can do this!

Hang in there you are sliding into home base...I want to do like you TXgirl1 and start slowly with the protien shakes and by the time I am on the pre-op diet I will be use to the protien shakes and maybe it will feel more like normal(hopefully at least) I am praying my DR is merciful enough to have me do the shakes for beakfast and lunch and a low carb/ low fat meal for dinner) instead of only protein shakes all day

Hang in there!! it's tough my family had in n out for dinner last night so i just came to my room and got on here until they were done eating, i just always have to remind myself that i wanted this

I used pre-op diet as a game to see how much weight I could lose prior to surgery. If you feel the need to chew, find some ice cubes. You can also blend shakes with cubes to get a thicker texture, or use sugar free syrups to change the taste.

Good luck! Also try some sugar free ice pops. They have been my life saver during my two week pre op.

I just started pre-op today too and it's hard! I shouldn't have had a pig fest yesterday becauxse I think it's making today that much harder! I don't like the shakes but I can handle them. It's the Protein bars I'm having trouble with. I had a chocolate peanut one this morning and I threw it out. Gross!

10 days to go!

I totally feel the same way. My dr. requires a 2 week protein shake diet and I am on day 3. It is awful. I cannot stand the shakes. They make me gag. I was only able to drink one today and it was hard to get down. Does anyone know if it is okay to just not have anything but water? I don't know if I can drink one more of those things. I left a message for the doctor's office but they haven't called me back yet.
