Hi had my band fitted yesterday, just looked down and one of my wounds is bleeding. I have been glued not stitched.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Hi there i also had glue done with no bleeding. However when you say bleeding how much alittle ie u can take care of it with a band aide or moderate it would soak up a 2x2 gauze. If its the latter then call ur dr. If its not bad i would just use a gauze pad cover with band aide and keep it dry

I would call the doctor. I too had glue and I caught a cold and had a bad cough which cause a few of my inscisions to come unglued slightly. Those that came unglued left pUckered scars. The ones that stayed intact are flat and barely noticeable. So, if only to reduce your scaring you want the glue to stay intact as long as possible. If the doctor oks it I would at least use some liquid bandaid or some steristrips.

No such thing as a dumb question, so good on you for asking.

OP means that she had her surgery and her lapband was fitted or placed around her stomach.

Thanks everyone, i re-covered it last night with another gauze and it looks fine this morning. I am going to keep my eye on it though. I think it maybe the port incision so is slightly larger than the rest.

Thanks for your advice Xx

Don't be straining too much with excercise, daily tasks, laundry or lifting. Hope all is well...take time to heal:)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
