Pre And Post Op Diet

Recommended Posts

It is secretly terrifying me! I'm scared that I won't have the willpower to do it, binge eat on brownies and get sick! Anybody else dealt with some type of anxiety about following diet? That is bothering more than the actual procedure

You just need to remember why you are doing it. I am 9 days post op and still not hungry. I have lost 25 lbs since pre op diet just doing what they told me to do. One thing I did on the pre op was added a lot of ice to my chocolate Protein Shake and blended it. It got thick and I would put it in a tall glass and eat with a spoon. I tricked myself into thinking it was a reward that way and I started looking forward to my shakes. I can't do that post op cause I can barely finish half a shake right now but you will make it. Stay strong!!

I totally hear you! It's very hard, but just keep thinking of why you're doing this and you won't binge.

I have the same fears. I'm in the purée stage and hate it! LOL! Afraid that when I can bite into something again it will be a pizza! Hang tough and I will too. Good luck!

Well to be honest when I was able to start my mushie I didnt over do it. The urge isnt there....it was the weirdest thing. You will do fine. pizza is my favorite and I wont be eating it the way I used to. I cant eat bread, rice, potato thing like that so I've decided that when it comes time to eat pizza I will just eat the toppings. The biggest thing I will miss for sure will be Pasta but ya know what all I will have to do is pull out my "fat" pictures and remember that that was one of my problems and if I eat it I will be right back to where I come from. And I'm no going back to Egypt!!

Whew! Glad to know I'm not alone with this. I won't let it get to me because I know I have to do right to make this work. But giving up steaks, burgers and brownies hmmm! It's worth it tho. Especially if it helps eliminate my high blood pressure

you will only be giving them up for alittle while (and then just eat small amounts of them later). it is worth is and i promise you will do just fine. first couple days are the worse and then its (normal) almost.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
